* Who are famous Boxing names of Canada depend on the yardsticks
to measure fame.  Some of the boxers listed would not be considered
famous on an International level and some would not be considered
great at the amateur level. 

In Canada, the degree of fame would depend on where they fought
and when they fought.   As many of the ancients before 1969 would
not necessarily be known to current boxing fans.

Also, the list does not include some boxers that would be on a famous
list in their own city or province but not so on an International list.

The above list includes the names of four boxers that were amateur boxers
in the Seventies and Eighties but it does not include the following
boxers that were seven of the initial ten of the first boxers picked for the
BRITISH COLUMBIA AMATEUR BOXING HALL OF FAME.
Ones not included in the list include:
Dick Findlay, Eddie Haddad, Frank Scott, Fred Desrosiers
Fred Fuller, Harold Mann and Jimmy Walters.
